Popping in again

I do seem to just pop in and out on a very sporadic basis on this blog.   Sorry, but life has a way of just passing by, doesn't it?!

Tax season (my full time job) was busy as usual but I've been able to keep up the monthly card classes that I put on.  It's a wonderful excuse to "have" to create.  AND  I love getting together with "the ladies".  A couple of the ladies come pretty well every month, a couple more every couple of months and today, a special lady came who hasn't been in awhile.  It sure was nice to see her.  Anytime you want to join us, I would love to see you, too!

I think today we should get caught up with the cards created for the January 2016 card class.

I guess you could call the January class a "CASE the Catty" class because 3 of the 4 designs were CASED from ideas from the Handmade from the Heart Occasions Stampin' Up! Catalogue (no longer current).

Specifically, we were getting ready for VALENTINE's Day and I was showcasing the Love Blossoms page of the catalogue.

The Blooming Heart Thinlits Dies and the Bloomin' Love stamp set carried over to the 2016-2017 annual catalogue.   It is a beautiful intricate die and the flowers in the stamp set are a really nice size.
This is the card in the new catalogue that features this set:
so the picture quality isn't the best.  It's hard to see the white on white.

Even the blushing bride glimmer paper is available in the current catalogue (such a lovely colour -- and that coming from someone who purports to not like the colour pink.... it must be growing on me since starting to make cards lol).    Unfortunately, the embellishment kit didn't make the annual catty.

Not everything is the same as the catalogue pic - I can only handle so much pink so... I changed one of the cards into a blue birthday card with the sentiment 'wish big'.

And the punch art panda?  well, that was a special request from a regular attendee for her friend that was having a birthday.   Since I didn't have any panda stamp sets:  I googled. I searched pinterest. and this is the card I designed from that research and the supplies and tools that I had in my craft room.  Apparently, the friend loved it.. yay!

Thanks for stopping by!

Until next time...Happy Stamping!

Paper Pumpkin's THIRD birthday -- a gift for subscribers

Paper Pumpkin is celebrating their THIRD birthday - with a special box this month (March 2016). I'm patiently waiting for mine to arrive. Every box has a title: this one is called Pocketful of Cheer.
Unfortunately, It's too late to get the March shipment -- you must sign up before the 10th of the month to get that month's kit. BUT... as a subscriber, you are eligible to purchase past kits and refill kits, while supplies last.
You all know that I love Stampin' Up!'s Paper Pumpkin Kits. I mean, what's not to love!! .... Everything is right there to make a project: the inks, stamps, papers, embellishments, even some adhesives. All I have to have of my own is a pair of paper snips and maybe some snail adhesive (SU's adhesive 'runner' - double-sided tape dispenser). Anything else I add from my craft stash is purely my own choice to do so.
Well, this morning an announcement was made to demonstrators and it won't be long before it becomes public knowledge....."It's a big month for us! It's our third birthday and we just shipped our ONE MILLIONTH kit! To celebrate, the April Paper Pumpkin kit will include a bonus stamp set called "All about Everything". We're keeping the art a surprise, but we know you'll love EVERYTHING about it! This is just our little way of saying thank you to our amazing subscribers. Subscribe by April 10 to get in on the fun!"

A bonus stamp set!? How fun is that!? Who doesn't love FREE.... and it's also not too late to get a great deal on the 3-month pre-paid gift subscription (for yourself or someone else) -- just place your order before March 31st and you get a FREE Sale-A-Bration item.
YUP, that's TWO FREE items - one a surprise with the April Paper Pumpkin kit and one you choose for yourself that comes with the SU order. I love surprises, don't you!!!

Haven't tried Paper Pumpkin yet? Tried it but let your subscription lapse? It's a GREAT TIME to start up (again)!!

There are a couple of ways to sign up:
directly at mypaperpumpkin.com (monthly subscription) get a code at stampinup.com (pre-paid subscription)  - make sure to enter the code before April 10th!!

I took my February kit with me when I went to BC to be with my Mom while she had surgery. I wanted to take my whole craft room but it wouldn't fit in my suitcase so... I made do....
These are the cards that were a "suggested use" of the kit contents.  I DO like to do my own "thing.
After all, Anything Goes.  :)
As it turned out, I didn't have a lot of time to make cards while I was there, but Mom needed a thank you for the friend who send her some really nice flowers
the calendar on the left is from the Dec 2015 PP kit - part of Mom's Christmas gift.  Love the flowers!

and I had the opportunity to meet with some new friends while in BC (John made some of my new craft room organizing items and Jean is a SU demonstrator) - and I couldn't go empty handed so I made up this card for them (sorry for the poor picture quality)
and I think this one on the right is the one I made for my Mum
I did make another one, for this sweet lady in the bed next to Mum's, but I forgot to take a picture. :(
AND, if you're a Paper Pumpkin subscriber, you're welcome to come to our Paper Pumpkin Night Out held once a month. We get together to craft and come up with alternate ideas to use the kit contents -- thinking "outside the box". Please feel free to join us. My calendar of events can be found here.
Until next time...Happy Stamping!
